Training – Duty Free World Council

Training

To further the Council’s objective of developing standards throughout the industry through educational activities the Council has created a not-for profit Academy providing industry bespoke online training courses to complement the in-house training already provided by industry stakeholders.

An Academic Advisory Group comprising a broad section of industry expertise from some of the leading retailers and brands, across all major product categories, plus global perspectives from the DFWC and TFWA inform the type of courses offered by the Academy and provides unrivalled oversight of content relevancy and accuracy.

The Academy works with its partners ACI World Training and best-in-class course designers to ensure its training delivers quantifiable and actionable learning outcomes. Since its inception over 7.000 industry professionals have enrolled in DFWC Academy courses and it has delivered over 3.000 accredited courses in 2024 alone.

Large travel retailers interested in investment in their people are continuing to use the learning platforms.

Industry Professional Standards

Following an industry wide consultation sets of professional standards have been developed for frontline sales staff. These are designed to support sales professionals with category specific best practice for the fragrance and tobacco categories.
