The industry also places the utmost importance on ensuring goods are presented to shoppers following best retail practice standards.
The DFWC in cooperation with industry stakeholders has developed Codes of Conduct covering the responsible sale of both alcohol products and confectionery, chocolate & biscuit products in duty free and travel retail. The Codes recognise the unique characteristic of the and embody the values and principles, of our industry and encourage the adoption of best practice.
Both Codes are voluntary and enjoy the support of most retailers and brands active in the relevant product categories. Additionally, both Codes are supported by training courses which demonstrate to frontline sales staff how the Codes can be put into practice in their workplaces. The Council encourages representatives of all stakeholders; brands, retailers, commercial teams, communications and promotional agencies, involved in the retail of these categories to ensure their associates participate in training.
